Job Description
The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts and mechanisms using hand and power tools to produce high-quality glass doors and frames for commercial refrigeration units. This role ensures all finished products consistently meet established production specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements in a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble fabricated parts and mechanisms to produce glass doors and frames for commercial refrigeration units using hand and power tools.
- Follow production specifications, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent assembly.
- Measure materials and components using a tape measure to verify proper dimensions and alignment.
- Work efficiently on an assembly line, contributing to overall production goals and timelines.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and safety requirements before completion.
- Handle general labor tasks associated with production, including material handling and workstation organization.
- Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure components are correctly assembled and securely fastened.
- Use mechanical assembly techniques to fit, align, and secure parts and mechanisms.
- Lift and move materials and products, with assistance, up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
- Support a small team atmosphere by collaborating and contributing to a positive, productive work environment.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail for precise assembly work.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs with assistance throughout the workday (approximately 7–8 hours within a 10-hour shift).
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
- Capability to work effectively on an assembly line performing mechanical assembly tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general labor or production environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes and using hand and power tools.
- Ability to interpret basic blueprints or assembly diagrams.
- Reliability and strong work ethic in a small team setting.
- Willingness to learn and grow quickly within the role.

Work Environment

The environment supports assembly line work with hand and power tools and requires 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The dress code emphasizes appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing setting, including the use of safety footwear and prescription safety glasses once eligible. The overall atmosphere is structured yet supportive, with a small team dynamic that promotes collaboration and efficiency.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkton, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
