This role focuses on operating material handling equipment and supporting production by safely moving, processing, and tracking materials in a manufacturing environment. You will handle inventory, operate forklifts and saws, and use RF scanners to ensure materials are accurately stored, prepared, and delivered to the appropriate areas on time.

Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Handle and stage materials for production, ensuring the correct items are delivered to the right workstations in a timely manner.
  • Perform saw operation tasks, including cutting materials to specified dimensions and following established safety and quality procedures.
  • Use RF scanners to accurately track inventory movements, record material locations, and update stock levels in the system.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including counting, verifying, and organizing materials to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility guidelines and safety standards.
  • Follow all manufacturing and material handling procedures, including proper loading, unloading, and storage of materials.
  • Communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams to coordinate material flow and resolve any material-related issues.
  • Inspect materials and equipment for damage or defects and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating equipment and performing material handling tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with saw operation, including cutting materials to specification and following safety protocols.
  • Practical experience with inventory handling and stock organization.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking and material movement.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling, labeling, and recording materials.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Reliable work habits with the ability to consistently support first-shift operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting with established production workflows.
  • Comfort working with basic hand tools and equipment related to material processing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production and material handling goals.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control practices and material flow in a production environment.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics personnel.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement in material handling processes.

Work Environment

You work in a manufacturing setting on a first-shift schedule, supporting production and warehouse operations during standard daytime hours. The environment includes forklifts, saws, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment, with established safety procedures and production workflows. You spend most of your time on the production floor and in material storage areas, moving between workstations, storage racks, and staging zones. The facility emphasizes safe equipment operation, orderly material storage, and adherence to manufacturing and inventory processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
