Job Description
The Production Associate supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment by assembling motor sub-components, performing quality checks, and preparing parts for shipment. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, comfort using hand and power tools, and a strong attention to detail. You will work on a variety of tasks across different production cells, following detailed instructions to ensure products meet high standards of quality and reliability.
Shift: 7am-3:30pm (with optional overtime)
Pay: $19/hour
Responsibilities
- Assemble sub-components of motors according to detailed work instructions and specifications.
- Pack finished parts and products securely for shipping to ensure they arrive in optimal condition.
- Pick and stage items and materials needed for production based on work orders.
- Complete quality checks on parts and assemblies to confirm they meet required standards.
- Clean and prepare metal parts by removing protective oils used to prevent rust during shipping.
- Read and follow detailed written and computer-based instructions accurately.
- Move between different production cells and work areas as needed to support workflow.
- Use hand tools and basic production equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.
- Collaborate with team members in production lines of 8–20 people to meet daily output goals.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and consistent effort throughout the assignment.
- Participate in on-the-job training and on-site certifications for new tasks and responsibilities.
Essential Skills
- Previous production experience within a manufacturing environment or closely related setting.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day on the production floor.
- Ability to use and read a computer screen for work instructions and production information.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Good attendance and punctuality, including adherence to an attendance policy.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and basic production tools.
- Capability to be trained and to retain new skills, as verified through prior references.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Quality inspection or packing experience in a production environment.
- Experience in electronic assembly or cleanroom work.
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing position, including assembly work.
- Tenure of 6+ months or more in previous roles, demonstrating stability and commitment.
- Familiarity with soldering, quality control, or chain operation (training and certification provided on-site).
- Experience working under an attendance policy in prior roles.
- Comfort performing a variety of tasks and rotating between different work cells.

Work Environment
The role is based in a modern, extremely clean, and temperature-controlled production facility in Buffalo Grove. The site is part of a larger network of manufacturing and production locations and includes a dedicated production building with approximately 150 employees, around 100 of whom work in production. The production floor is organized into multiple lines where teams of 8–20 people collaborate in a structured, efficient environment. You will work in various production cells, moving between areas as needed and performing different tasks such as assembly, packing, picking, and quality checks. The standard shift is 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with additional overtime opportunities available between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and on some Saturdays; overtime is optional, but if you sign up, you are expected to work the full shift. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, and provides a professional, supportive setting where you can focus on quality work and skill development.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
