This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You will work with small components and precision hand tools to build and assemble parts, place components onto printed circuit boards, and ensure each unit meets quality and performance standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistent productivity, and the ability to work effectively at an individual workstation throughout the shift.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic switches and related components for use in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare products.
  • Handle and assemble small parts, using strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to build and assemble various component parts according to specifications and work instructions.
  • Gather and organize all required materials and components before and during the assembly process to keep work flowing efficiently.
  • Place components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision, following diagrams, layouts, and standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect assembled parts visually and by feel to ensure proper fit, function, and quality, and correct any issues as needed.
  • Maintain focus and attention to detail while working at an individual station, alternating between standing and sitting throughout the day.
  • Meet daily production targets and quality standards while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, equipment, and electronic components.
  • Participate in required overtime, typically 3–4 hours per day, to support production demands and maintain on-time delivery.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working with small parts and strong hand–eye dexterity to perform precise assembly tasks.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic assembly processes, including working with components and printed circuit boards.
  • Ability to place and secure components onto PCBs with accuracy and care.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Comfort working at an individual workstation, standing and sitting for extended periods during the shift.
  • Willingness and ability to work significant overtime, typically 50–60 hours per week.
  • Reliability and accountability to follow instructions and complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing or electronic assembly environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Solder certification is a plus and may enhance opportunities within the role.
  • Experience with soldering in an electronic assembly environment is beneficial.
  • Experience with pick-and-place equipment or processes is a plus and may support pay adjustments.
  • Previous experience as an electronic assembler or in a similar production role is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to different component builds and tasks as production needs change.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing environment organized in long rows, each with approximately five workstations in a row. You will work at your own station, alternating between standing on your feet and sitting throughout the day, while using hand tools, power tools, and electronic assembly equipment. The culture is relaxed but results-oriented, with the expectation that you understand your tasks and complete them without constant direction. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with flexibility to start at 5:30 a.m.) and a second shift from 3:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Most employees currently work 50–60 hours per week with 3–4 hours of overtime per day. The facility conducts temperature checks and brief health screenings at the start and near the end of each shift to support a safe workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.40 - $15.40/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
