Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine Operator

Operate and set up manual machining equipment to manufacture steel sprockets, gears, and pulleys in a high-volume production environment. Use precision measuring tools, perform basic machine maintenance, and cross-train on multiple manual machines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate engine lathes and other manual machines including drill presses, punch presses, broaches, and brake presses.
• Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Record measurements and production data for quality control.
• Perform light machine maintenance and apply coolant as needed.
• Use overhead cranes to move materials safely.
• Follow blueprints, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of experience using micrometers and precision measuring tools.
• Experience operating manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read measurements and perform basic shop math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand throughout the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple machines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Metal manufacturing or manual machining experience.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Welding, fabrication, or CNC exposure is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
