Quality Lab Technician
Job Description
The Quality Lab Technician will be responsible for performing proficient laboratory testing, preparing samples, and executing tests with expertise in certified procedures. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of general laboratory processes, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness duties.
Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests on various products using equipment for which the employee has been trained and certified.
- Read and understand instructions, procedures, routing sheets, and other required documentation.
- Follow instructions and procedures to ensure the quality of work is maintained.
- Process paperwork, ensuring routing sheets are complete and accurate while maintaining product integrity with its lot number.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify product specifications.
- Apply mathematical skills necessary for performing required lab tests.
- Display a positive attitude, readily volunteer assistance, and seek training opportunities.
- Quality control experience.
- Proficiency in aerospace industry standards.
- Microscope inspection expertise.
- Cross-section analysis skills.
- Familiarity with inspection tools.
- Blueprint reading capabilities.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in engineering and customer requirement blueprint reading.
- Microreading experience.
- Aerospace experience is required, aerospace fastener experience is a plus.
- Ability to test for cross-section, grain, flow of threads, head reading, and hardness.
- Aptitude for lab work and willingness to perform physical functions, including handling parts and machinery.
- Mathematical skills including basic math, algebra, and geometry.
- Basic reading skills in English sufficient to understand work orders, operating instructions, company policies, and safety rules.
The Quality Lab Technician will work in the engineering quality lab, reporting to the Laboratory Manager. The team includes NDT specialists, quality analysts, and lab technicians. The position offers stability in a clean manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement as the department grows. The role is available in two shifts: First Shift (6:00 am - 4:30 pm) and Second Shift (4:30 pm - 2:30 am), with initial training on the first shift. The dress code requires appropriate lab attire for a safe and professional environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
