We are seeking a CNC Machinist for our client for a full-time direct hire role in the Cherry Hill, NJ area. Experience with MasterCam 2025 and work with exotic materials (ex: magnesium, kovar, beryllium copper) are highly desirable. Relocation is available for the right candidate.


The CNC Milling Machinist position is responsible for programming, setup, and operation of 3-5 axis milling, turning, and EDM machines (e.g., Haas VM/DM/UMC, Hurco VM, DMG MillTap, DMG NHX4000, Hurco TM6, etc.). The CNC Machinist / Milling is also responsible for utilizing support machinery such as manual lathes, manual milling machines, and EDM to complete necessary manufacturing processes. The position requires in-process inspection, program improvements, and training and mentoring of entry-level machinists. The CNC Milling Machinist is also required to work according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business goals and objectives.


Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Setup and Operation of 3 - 5 axis milling machines, CNC lathes, and EDM.
  • Proficient in the use of MasterCam or similar CAM programs to effectively create efficient true 5-axis programs for machine tools.
  • Perform inspection of parts utilizing standard shop measuring equipment (hand tools, comparators, video measuring system, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of proper utilization of cutting tools.
  • Develop/suggest process improvements.
  • Ability to work with close tolerances (.0001).
  • Train entry-level machinists when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
  • Well-developed math skills, preferably in geometry.
  • Ability to work with metric and inch measurements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • HS Diploma (or equivalent); vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC machining and milling experience.
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve program and machining issues.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision.
  • Strong team player who is able to work with multiple departments.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Encouraging the team and staff.
  • General passion for creative problem-solving.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, including GD&T.
  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
  • Ability to operate and set up CNC Milling machines.
  • Ability to machine parts to tight tolerances.
  • Basic understanding of cutting tool speeds and feeds.
  • Ability to maintain production quality.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding inspection tools and gauges.
  • Must be capable of receiving, understanding, and performing instructions (written and verbal).
  • Must have good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
