CNC Laser Operator
Job Description
Location: Clover/Gastonia,
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Summary
Speedwell Machine is seeking an experienced Laser Operator/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality precision metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, creating and modifying CNC programs, performing machine setups, and ensuring all parts meet quality specifications.
Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC laser cutting machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for efficient production.
Select proper materials, tooling, and machine settings for each job.
Perform machine setups and changeovers to support production schedules.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
Troubleshoot programming and machine issues to minimize downtime.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment concerns.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Work with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
Previous experience operating and programming CNC laser cutting equipment required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience with CNC programming software and machine controls.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
