Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for tool and die maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, machining operations, and CNC programming in a fast-paced production environment. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC programming, Wire EDM, grinders, lathes, die repair, and troubleshooting production tooling and equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture
  • Set up and operate tool room machinery including grinders, mills, drill presses, lathes, and related equipment
  • Perform die repair, die maintenance, and troubleshooting on production tooling
  • Program and operate CNC machinery and Wire EDM equipment
  • Machine and modify die components and inserts for repair or production improvements
  • Diagnose tooling, mold, and equipment issues and implement corrective actions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Work to close tolerances and perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Support engineering projects, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to tooling repairs and equipment issues
  • Train and assist other Tool & Die team members as needed
  • Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations including PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, and Confined Space procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Tool & Die experience or equivalent technical training and experience
  • Experience with CNC programming and Wire EDM required
  • Experience operating grinders, lathes, milling machines, drilling, tapping, and boring equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to repair and modify dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
  • Ability to read blueprints and work with close tolerances
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and coolants
  • Understanding of press operations and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 procedures preferred
  • Sit-down forklift experience preferred
  • Strong shop math skills including fractions, decimals, geometry, metric conversions, and trigonometry
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
