Metal Fabrication Machinist

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team at ThermaPlate in Justin, TX. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience operating and maintaining CNC or other metal-working equipment. Previous experience fabricating pressure vessels and piping systems is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD would also be a plus. The ideal candidate would be able to read blueprints and technical schematics with attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain industrial machines including but not limited to Brake Press, Resistance Welder and Shear
• Operate digitally controlled (via computer screen) Laser Welding and Laser Cutting equipment
• Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.
• Operate power tools including but not limited to band saw, circular saw, drill press, power drills
• Contribute to other areas of the shop as needed. e.g. building pallets for shipment of completed projects, sweeping shop floors, etc.
• Possess a positive attitude, organizational skills, and punctuality

Work Experience Requirements:

• Metal fabrication
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, manufacturing drawings, policies, and procedures
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull heavy loads and stand for long periods of time. Will require lifting greater than 50 lbs.
• Follow strict safety protocols

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour, 1.5X hourly pay for Overtime

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• 6:00am-2:30pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Overtime is often available and is occasionally mandatory
