CNC Lathe Machinist

The CNC Lathe Machinist plays a vital role in precision manufacturing by operating and maintaining CNC lathe machines. As a key team member reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position focuses on producing high-quality machined parts through expert operation, setup, and maintenance of CNC lathe equipment. The role offers opportunities for skill development, cross-training, and advancement to lead machinist positions within a safety-focused environment utilizing standard CNC software such as Fanuc and Haas.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to specifications
• Set up machines, including loading programs and calibrating tools
• Load and adjust CNC programs using standard software (e.g., Fanuc, Haas)
• Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to blueprints
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
• Document processes, machine settings, and production data
• Handle materials efficiently to support machining operations

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in CNC machining with lathe operation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in blueprint reading and precision measurement
• Experience with G-code programming and tool calibration
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good manual dexterity and safety compliance
