Role: Contract-to-perm for right fit

Pay: $30-40/hour

Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Set-Up Machinist to join a fast-paced, high-production machine shop environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who can quickly step into a busy operation with minimal training and confidently handle machine set-ups, part measurements, and troubleshooting. Strong set-up experience is essential; programming experience is highly preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with short-run, quick-turn projects across a mix of horizontal and vertical CNC machines, and must be able to efficiently set up existing programs and keep production moving.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform CNC machine set-ups efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.
  2. Set up and run existing programs, making adjustments as needed for production.
  3. Program parts using Mastercam as needed.
  4. Set up and run short-run, quick-turn jobs with frequent changeovers.
  5. Machine primarily aluminum and stainless-steel components.
  6. Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
  7. Troubleshoot machining and set-up issues to maintain production flow.
  8. Ensure finished parts meet required specifications and quality standards.


Qualifications

  1. Strong CNC set-up experience required.
  2. Experience with Fanuc Controls required.
  3. Programming experience preferred, particularly with Mastercam.
  4. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, offsets, and program adjustments.
  5. Experience machining aluminum and stainless steel.
  6. Ability to read blueprints and accurately inspect parts using precision measuring instruments.
  7. Comfortable with short-run, quick-turn production and frequent changeovers.
  8. Ability to work independently with little to no training.
  9. Reliable work history and demonstrated job stability preferred.
