Machinist

Machinist Job Description:

• Manual Machinist
• Manufacture and make repairs per instructions and/or drawings to electric motor, pump and gear components
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging.
• Perform inspections including measuring fits.
• Properly filling out all paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 year of experience operating horizontal lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes and boring mils.
• Must have ability to work with extremely close tolerances (example: .0005" to .001")
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be physically able to safely operate all equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing for long periods of time.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills and lathes
• Verifies conformance of finished work to specifications
• Confers with the Service Manager and others to resolve machining or assembly problems
• Works to achieve production goals in a timely manner
• Adheres to and maintains quality work practices, qualifications, and procedures
• Maintains machinery and a clean work area
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required

• High School diploma or GED
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment
• Good Initiative and work ethics
• 2+years of experience working with high tolerances
• Must be able to use precision tools (i.e., micrometers) to take accurate measurements

We sell and service electrical apparatus- motors, pump, gearing and equipment from our wholesale house, in the service center and in the field.
