Busy Westlake Village personal injury law firm seeks a full-time well-experienced medical records clerk. This position requires great organization and time management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. It's a small and very friendly office. The right candidate must work well in a fast-paced, high demand, and jovial atmosphere.

This full-time position’s compensation is $23-26 per hour depending upon experience (plus periodic discretionary performance bonuses). Bonuses are paid twice yearly up to 10% of the last 6 months wages based on performance. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k) w/ 3% employer contribution. 17 paid holidays plus 3 weeks of PTO.

About Us:

Westlake Injury Law is a plaintiffs personal injury law firm established in 2009. Our litigation staff is relentless in bringing defendants and insurance carriers to justice through hard pressed litigation. We have a close-knit small office of 14 hard working team members and growing. We are located in beautiful Westlake Village and enjoy regular lunches as a group at local restaurants and wine on our large patio overlooking the city.

Our firm is organized with a pre-litigation and litigation department. Each department is staffed by case managers that are responsible for moving a case through the process efficiently and effectively. The medical records clerk will work on all cases in the firm – currently approximately 200 – to order medical records on regular intervals, track the production from medical providers, follow-up with those providers to ensure production of all responsive records and periodically updating medical records from some providers.

Key Responsibilities:

- communicate both internally with case managers and directly with clients to ensure we have the locations of all medical providers with which care has been received

- ordering records from various medical providers and following up to ensure complete and timely production of records

- communicating with case managers and clients to determine locations that treatment is on-going and which records need to periodically be updated

- reviewing medical records and ensuring we possess all relevant documents

- working with AI and human providers to compile medical treatment chronologies and summaries

- Use Clio case management software to manage, organize and document the production of medical records

Qualifications:

- Minimum two (2) years experience working in either a law firm or medical office; some clerical experience dealing with medical records management or large volumes of law firm records management

- Strong attention to details and excellent time management skills

- Proficient in MS Office applications and preferred experience with Clio

- Exceptional communications skills are critical

- Will work on-site at our facility located at Westlake Village (no option to work remote).
