Part-Time Spanish Teacher – Elementary School

Blooming Minds STEAM Academy is seeking a Part-Time Spanish Teacher to teach Spanish to elementary school students during the academic year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with strong Spanish-language skills and experience teaching children. The ideal candidate can create engaging, structured lessons that develop students’ Spanish speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing skills.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish language classes to elementary school students
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Spanish lessons
• Teach Spanish vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, grammar, reading, and writing
• Follow and support the school’s Spanish curriculum and instructional goals
• Use textbooks, digital learning tools, games, songs, projects, conversation, and immersive Spanish-language activities
• Create lesson plans and instructional materials
• Differentiate instruction for students with different learning levels and abilities
• Assess and track student progress
• Assign and review classwork and homework as appropriate
• Maintain a positive, organized, and well-managed classroom
• Provide constructive feedback to students
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and school administration regarding student progress when needed
• Incorporate Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions into classroom instruction
• Collaborate with school leadership and other teachers

Required Qualifications

• Fluency or professional proficiency in Spanish
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching, tutoring, language instruction, or classroom experience
• Experience working with elementary school students or school-age children
• Strong classroom management skills
• Strong lesson-planning and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons
• Reliable, professional, patient, and adaptable

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, Foreign Language Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
• Spanish teaching experience in an elementary school, private school, language program, tutoring center, or enrichment program
• Experience developing or adapting Spanish curriculum
• Experience with differentiated instruction
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms
• Knowledge of second-language acquisition and foreign-language teaching methods

We are especially interested in candidates who can make Spanish instruction interactive and conversational, rather than relying exclusively on worksheets or textbook instruction.

Students should have opportunities to learn through conversation, movement, games, music, projects, cultural activities, and real-world Spanish-language experiences.
