Job Overview
We are a small growing electrical contractor looking for an experienced apprentice. We specialize in commercial construction and service, but also do residential and industrial projects. We are looking for someone with previous experience and willing to learn all aspects of the trade.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with electrical system installation, wiring, conduit bending, and electrical blueprint reading.
- Support the setup and maintenance of commercial electrical systems, ensuring all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to perform basic electrical measurements and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately to support project execution.
- Follow strict electrical safety procedures and safety protocol adherence at all times on construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while assisting with the safe handling of electrical materials and equipment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in industrial or commercial electrician work is required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with electrical schematic reading, blueprint interpretation, conduit bending, electrical wiring, and electrical systems installation.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance standards and NEC regulations related to electrical safety procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices.
- Construction site experience or exposure to industrial environments is advantageous.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a focus on safety protocol adherence.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in the electrical trade.
