Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. Your energetic approach will help facilitate efficient appointment scheduling, accurate medical record management, and patient coordination. By maintaining a positive and proactive attitude, you will contribute to delivering exceptional patient experiences and supporting the overall operational success of our medical facility. Previous experience not necessary.
Duties
- Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals with precision and efficiency.
- Deliver and explain equipment to patients and help the doctor to coordinate their cases and appointments
- Keep and maintain our basic medical equipment
- Travel to three different offices located in Elgin, Palatine, and Des Plaines
- Collect and review medical records, ensuring completeness and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist patients with understanding their billing statements, payment options, and collection procedures related to medical collections.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions accurately.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient status, diagnostic codes, and treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of medical terminology and coding standards to support accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Support the medical office team by managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record management is preferred but not required.
- Some basic understanding of medical terminology and medical records management practices.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
