Quality Engineer
Job Description
We’re seeking a Quality Engineer to improve product quality, support manufacturing performance, and drive corrective action across a production environment. This role is a strong fit for someone who can work closely with operations, engineering, suppliers, and customers to prevent defects and resolve quality issues at the root cause level.
Key Responsibilities
- Support quality planning, process validation, and production readiness for new and existing products.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods.
- Review nonconforming material, customer concerns, internal defects, and process issues to determine proper containment and resolution.
- Conduct process, product, and system audits to verify compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams to improve yield, reduce defects, and maintain quality documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
- Background supporting molding, assembly, or production-based processes.
- Experience with PFMEAs, control plans, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
- Working knowledge of 8D and 5-Why problem-solving methods.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and follow-through skills.
