In-Home Licensed Vet Tech

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide weekday in-home monitoring for Remy, our dog with mitral valve disease.

Compensation: $40-50/hour depending on experience.

Location: New York City, Manhattan, Upper East Side (Near the Q and 6)

Start date and expected duration: Ideally August 24th or shortly thereafter.

Schedule:

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Approximately 28.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Remain in our home with Remy during the scheduled hours
• Monitor his condition according to a written plan developed with his veterinarian
• Recognize signs requiring urgent veterinary attention
• Contact us and transport Remy to our designated emergency hospital if the agreed emergency criteria are met
• Record relevant observations and communicate any changes
• Administer prescribed medication only if included in the agreed care plan

Qualifications:

• Active New York LVT credential
• Several years of hands-on clinical experience
• Experience with cardiac patients strongly preferred
• Emergency, specialty, internal-medicine, or critical-care experience is a plus
• Reliable transportation, professional references, and comfort transporting Remy in an emergency

This is primarily a monitoring position. The caregiver may perform their own quiet remote work while Remy is stable, provided monitoring and care remain the priority. We offer a comfortable workspace with a desk, large display, reliable internet, and snacks or a lunch stipend.
