Job Title: Caregiver – 24-Hour Home Care Team

Helping Is Simply Caring dba Simply Caring is seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers to join the care team for a new client requiring assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This is not a 24-hour individual shift. Caregivers will work assigned first, second, or overnight shifts as part of a rotating care team. Applicants must be dependable and willing to work a consistent schedule that may include rotating weekends.

Available Shifts

  • First shift: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Second shift: 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
  • Overnight shift: 9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Expected Weekly Hours

  • First shift: Approximately 24–32 hours per week
  • Second shift: Approximately 18–24 hours per week
  • Overnight shift: Approximately 30–40 hours per week

Additional hours with other clients may be available for caregivers assigned to first or second shift, depending on availability, client needs, and total weekly hours.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the client with activities of daily living according to the established Plan of Care
  • Provide personal care assistance as authorized
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed
  • Prepare meals and assist with eating when required
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry related to the client’s care
  • Provide companionship, supervision, and safety monitoring
  • Assist with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation as appropriate
  • Observe the client’s condition and promptly report changes or concerns to the office
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for every shift
  • Clock in and out through the company’s electronic visit verification system
  • Communicate professionally with the client, family, office staff, and other caregivers
  • Follow all company policies, infection-control procedures, and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous caregiving, personal care, home care, or healthcare experience is preferred
  • CNA certification is helpful but not required unless needed by the client’s Plan of Care
  • Must be dependable and able to report to every assigned shift on time
  • Must be able to work the complete shift consistently
  • Must be willing to work a rotating weekend schedule
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks and employment screenings
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the client’s home
  • Must have a working smartphone for scheduling, communication, and electronic visit verification
  • Must be able to follow written care instructions and complete accurate documentation
  • Must demonstrate patience, compassion, professionalism, and respect

Physical Requirements

Caregivers must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist with routine caregiving duties for the duration of the shift. The position may require assisting the client with mobility, transfers, or repositioning depending on the Plan of Care.

Scheduling Expectations

Two primary caregivers will rotate coverage for each shift. Schedules may include three- and four-day workweeks with rotating weekends. Because this client requires continuous coverage, reliable attendance is essential. Overtime must be approved in advance.

  • Whether they are willing to consider another shift if their preferred shift is filled
