Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ growth and development in the vibrant Port St. Lucie area. This contract position calls for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to bring their expertise to a diverse school community, working across multiple campuses with a varied PreK–12th grade caseload. You’ll collaborate on site with educational teams and help students overcome challenges to reach their full potential.

You’ll work a consistent 35-hour week, providing services at 3–5 schools (locations to be determined), and engage with a broad spectrum of ages and abilities. This role offers an excellent chance to make a tangible impact, grow professionally, and connect with a passionate, collaborative group of educators.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid, active Florida Department of Health OTA License required
  • Previous school-based COTA experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage a dynamic caseload across PreK–12th grade students
  • Willingness to complete school district fingerprinting (district can use AHCA Clearinghouse prints if previously completed)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to travel between assigned school locations in the Port St. Lucie area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students according to their individualized education plans
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school staff to support student goals
  • Maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation per school and district requirements
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations
  • Adapt activities and materials to students’ functional abilities and educational needs
