School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Portage, Indiana

Make an impact supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a welcoming, collaborative school district in Porter County, IN. This travel SLPA assignment is contract-based and designed to offer flexibility that works for you, with PreK–12 caseload opportunities and the chance to help match grade levels or locations with your preferences. Although this position is primarily onsite, teletherapy options are being considered as a backup, adding another layer of flexibility to your role.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist to students ranging from PreK through 12th grade
• Support assessments, documentation, and IEP implementation for a caseload of approximately 80–100 students
• Adjust seamlessly to building or assignment reconfigurations as the district finalizes placements
• Be part of a team committed to fostering communication skills and success for students with diverse needs
• Participate actively in compliance efforts, maintaining accurate, timely records per district and state guidelines

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active Indiana Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License or eligibility
• Experience working with school-age populations, preferably across multiple grade bands
• Ability to adapt to shifting assignments and collaborate with teams across school sites
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Completion of background check and standard clearances required for school-based roles
