Tax Senior Associate / Tax Accountant (CPA)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complex tax returns for a variety of entities, including:
  • S-Corporations
  • C-Corporations
  • Partnerships
  • Nonprofit organizations
• Review income tax returns prepared by Associates and provide guidance and feedback.
• Assist in coordinating tax engagements, including client communications, staffing requirements, documentation, and project timelines.
• Research and analyze complex tax issues and collaborate with senior team members to develop effective client solutions.
• Supervise and mentor less experienced staff members on engagements and special projects.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients and attract new clients.

QualificationsEducation & Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Active CPA license required.

Experience

• 2–5 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a focus on taxation.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
• Sound professional judgment and skepticism.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, staff, and clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with tax and accounting software preferred.
