Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supporting students in grades PreK–12. This onsite travel position is set in the vibrant community near Gary, IN, with specific school assignments determined to suit both district needs and your individual geographic or grade-level preferences. Caseloads are manageable, typically serving 80–100 students, and the district values flexibility and candidate input when considering assignments.

Your role will be instrumental in collaborating with teams to enhance students’ communication abilities, whether in traditional or potential teletherapy settings. As you work within a dynamic, evolving district, your skills and adaptability will directly impact educational outcomes for a diverse group of learners.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active SLPA license/credentials valid for Indiana
  • Familiarity with compliance procedures: background screening and standard district clearances
  • Experience or comfort working in PreK–12 educational settings
  • Flexibility to adapt as building-level assignments are finalized
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students under supervision of a licensed SLP in individual and group settings
  • Collect and record student data and progress toward IEP goals
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and therapists to deliver high-quality, student-centered interventions
  • Contribute to a positive school environment and foster student engagement
  • Adjust to new assignments or locations as the district finalizes coverage and caseload needs
