Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Lees Summit, MO

Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting student success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract opportunity, beginning August 25th through December 18th (with possibility for full school year extension), involves working across several educational sites in the Lees Summit area. The position includes time at elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing diverse experiences daily.

You'll manage your own schedule in collaboration with site oversight at the start of the year, ensuring all assigned caseload students receive high-quality services every week. Expect to serve approximately 32 direct students, totaling around 800 therapy minutes weekly. This full-time role generally runs from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with each day comprised of 7.5 hours.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current COTA licensure in Missouri required
• Previous school-based experience preferred, especially with various student populations
• Strong time management skills and ability to independently organize a weekly schedule
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with educational staff and families
• Commitment to providing flexible, student-centered occupational therapy services

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct therapy to assigned students across multiple school locations
• Work closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other educators
• Document student progress, attendance, and intervention results
• Adapt therapy techniques to meet varied developmental and educational needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as necessary
