Job Description

This contract opportunity spans the academic year (August 25 – May 28) and is ideal for flexible, passionate professionals ready to make an impact in multiple educational settings.
Paraprofessionals here play a vital role in both special education and general education classrooms, with assignments that may shift between elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the year. Positions may involve 1:1 student support or assisting within a classroom, collaborating closely with teachers, aides, therapists, and other support staff to foster student success in a respectful and supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Substitute Certificate (active on Missouri DESE site) or ParaPro Exam with transcripts required before proceeding to interviews
- Experience supporting students with special needs, including behavioral challenges
- Comfort with toileting, changing, and behavior interventions
- Willingness to work across multiple school sites and grade levels as needed
- Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with individualized needs in SPED and general education classrooms
- Provide academic, social, and behavioral support per established plans
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
- Support with daily living activities when required
- Work collaboratively to adapt instruction and interventions
Schedules vary by assignment (middle school: 7:00-2:30, high school: 7:30-3:00, elementary: 8:30-4:00 or 9:00-4:30). Please indicate your preference and flexibility regarding grade levels and assignments.
