Job Description
We are seeking a Controller to support accounting operations within a manufacturing environment in the Mankato, MN area. This role is responsible for maintaining organized financial and operational records, ensuring documentation is accurate, accessible, and properly retained. The ideal candidate brings strong corporate accounting experience, sound judgment, and the ability to oversee document-related processes with a high level of precision. Responsibilities:
• Oversee core accounting activities and help ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and aligned with company standards.
• Manage document control practices by organizing, tracking, and maintaining business and accounting records for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
• Coordinate scanning and digitization of paper files to create reliable electronic records and improve document accessibility.
• Review compiled documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification before filing or distribution.
• Support compliance efforts by maintaining record retention practices and preparing documentation for internal or external review.
• Partner with operational and administrative teams to gather, organize, and reconcile supporting documents tied to financial activities.
• Monitor documentation workflows and recommend practical improvements that strengthen consistency and reduce processing delays
• At least 7 years of experience in accounting, controllership, or a related financial leadership role.• Demonstrated background in corporate accounting within a structured business environment, preferably in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with document control, records organization, and high-volume document scanning processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify accuracy across financial and administrative documentation.
• Proficiency in compiling, reviewing, and maintaining records in both physical and digital formats.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
