This is an onsite position running through May 27, 2027, offering valuable experience in a diverse and supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Current Alabama ASHA certification
- Alabama Educator SLP Certificate required (may start if the certificate is pending—see Alabama Teacher Certification Portal for details)
- Experience with K-12 populations within a school environment
- Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills
Position Highlights:
- Contract position, full-time hours (37.5 per week)
- Therapy and evaluation responsibilities for a consistent caseload (not exceeding 60 students)
- Multiple campus assignment options including elementary, magnet, and youth facility settings
- Caseloads distributed to maintain quality of service and manageable workflow
- Strictly SLPs – no SLPAs in these positions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language therapy sessions individually and in small groups
- Complete speech and language evaluations and contribute to multidisciplinary assessment teams
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to maximize student progress
