In this role, you will work one-on-one with students, providing them with personalized academic and behavioral support throughout the school day. You’ll be integral to creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, collaborating closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide, preferably in a school or youth-centered environment
- Familiarity with supporting students requiring individualized attention, including those with disabilities or learning differences
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and communicate clearly with both students and staff
- Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable approach to addressing diverse student needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of paraeducator training programs or relevant certifications is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 instructional and behavioral assistance to assigned student(s) during classroom and school activities
- Support students with daily routines, transitions, and task completion
- Help adapt classroom materials and assignments under the guidance of certified teachers
- Promote student independence while encouraging positive interactions with peers
- Assist with documentation and observation of student progress as needed
