Key Qualifications:
- Active GA DOE SLI License (must have license available for verification)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and experience interpreting in an educational setting
- Ability to engage effectively with students, educators, and staff
- Professionalism, dependability, and adaptability in a school environment
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethics requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for assigned students onsite
- Support communication between students, teachers, and peers for a successful learning experience
- Adapt interpretation based on student needs, classroom activities, and IEP guidelines
- Float between caseload assignments as needed, supporting inclusive instruction
- Collaborate with the educational team to facilitate full participation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adhere to all district policies and maintain documentation of services provided
