Step into a key role supporting students’ communication needs at a welcoming North Chicago area school district for a contract position as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This opportunity covers a maternity leave from September 4, 2026, through December 11, 2026, offering a full-time schedule Monday through Friday (37.5 hours weekly). Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Illinois SLP license (required)
- Possess SLP-CCC credentials (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Experience in school-based settings, especially with elementary and middle school students, is highly valued
- Strong ability to work proactively onsite—this assignment does not offer virtual/remote options
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessments and direct therapy to students with a variety of speech and language needs
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain precise documentation and progress reports following school and state requirements
- Provide consultation and support for teachers and parents
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school community activities
