  • Responsible for building electronic, mechanical, and optical assemblies used in Filmetrics measurement instruments and related systems.

  • A typical day will include, checking Emails first thing in the morning, reviewing computer-based schedule and tasks (Click-Up program) checking assigned Work Orders (WO) and Sales Orders (SO) in Click-Up, verifying that required materials are available, and following assembly documentation to complete sub-assemblies, system assemblies, upgrades, or full instrument builds.

  • The assembler is expected to work carefully with sensitive components, including cable harnesses, small, soldered parts, fibers, optical components, and mechanically aligned assemblies.

  • The work requires the assembler to move independently from one task to the next while following documented instructions and meeting production priorities.

  • Electronic assembly such as crimping, soldering, and cable installation; mechanical assembly using basic hand tools; optical alignment and calibration; installation of sub-assemblies into larger builds; and final preparation of instruments or accessories for technical review, certification, packaging, and shipment.

  • May support multiple product lines, each with different configurations, customer options, and upgrade requirements.

  • Throughout the building process, the assembler must identify stopping points in the documentation where technician review or sign-off is required before continuing. If an issue is found during assembly, the assembler is expected to perform basic troubleshooting, if not able to resolve, send a Production Tech Support request in Teams for assistance.

  • Technicians will assist and have the Assembler create and submit the appropriate Non-Conformance (NC) form request and document the issue clearly and thoroughly. This may include identifying missing or incorrect materials, building discrepancies, fit or alignment concerns, electrical or mechanical issues, or documentation gaps that prevent the work from moving forward.

  • The role also includes administrative and process-related responsibilities.

  • Assemblers are expected to use computer system Click-Up to track work order progress.

  • Assembler must be able to adapt and adjust, communicate effectively with technicians, manufacturing engineers, inventory control, and other team members, and maintain quality and accuracy while working in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Requires a combination of hands-on assembly skills, attention to detail, basic mechanical and electrical understanding, ability to follow and interpret documentation, and willingness to learn across multiple product types.

  • Producing quality work, recognizing when technical support is needed, documenting issues appropriately, and helping ensure that Filmetrics systems and assemblies are completed with the highest quality and prepared correctly for shipment to customers.

  • Assemblers build subassemblies and complete assemblies that support larger systems.

  • Employees work from detailed documentation and receive structured training.

  • Optical work may be performed in enclosed workstations designed to minimize dust and contamination.

  • Teamwork and collaboration are highly valued, and employees are encouraged to seek assistance when needed.

  • Hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of assembly/manufacturing experience, although candidates with more or less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong potential.

  • High school diploma and relevant hands-on manufacturing experience are sufficient.

  • Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic are critical.

  • Candidates must be willing to work onsite, be punctual, and consistently available for their scheduled shifts.

  • Basic computer proficiency is required, including email usage and navigating internal tools and systems.

  • Mechanical assembly

  • Electronic assembly

  • PCB/circuit board assembly

  • Optical component assembly

  • Precision manufacturing environments

  • Working with small components and detailed builds

  • Cleanroom experience is not required, but experience in controlled or highly organized manufacturing environments is considered beneficial.

  • Typical lifting requirements are minimal, generally 10-15 pounds. Larger systems are moved using carts and lift equipment.

  • Safety is a major focus, and employees are expected to follow proper material handling procedures.

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience.

  • Interest in learning and growing within the organization.

  • Solid assembly/manufacturing experience, strong attendance history, good computer skills
