Associate Attorney - Personal Injury
Job Description
Our client is a small, growing personal injury firm in Beverly Hills. They fight to help injured people rebuild their lives - and we invest the same way in the attorneys who help us do it. This is not a paperwork mill. You will own your caseload from intake through pre-litigation and into litigation, work directly with our Founding Attorney, and - if you want it - get the chance to take cases to trial. For the right person who proves to be a strong long-term fit, there is a real path to partnership.
Why you'll want this job
Real ownership - your own caseload from intake through pre-litigation and into litigation, not busywork.
Direct mentorship - you'll work closely with our Founding Attorney, who reviews every case (and every application) personally.
Courtroom opportunity - trial work is there if you want it, as second or first chair. No prior trial experience required.
Partnership track - prove yourself and there's a genuine path to ownership.
What you'll do
Own a caseload of personal injury matters - auto accidents, slip-and-fall, premises liability, dog bites, and wrongful death - from intake and demand negotiations through settlement, with some cases moving into litigation.
Evaluate claims, build case value, draft demand packages, and negotiate strong settlements with insurers and defense counsel; pursue policy-limits results and oversee lien negotiations.
Independently take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts, and handle the rest of the litigation cycle when cases don't settle - pleadings, written discovery, and law and motion.
Take cases to trial if you want the experience (optional) - second or first chair, from motions in limine and jury selection through opening, closing, and witness examination.
Keep clients informed, track statutes of limitation, mentor case staff, and help improve how the firm runs as we grow.
What you need
Active California Bar license, in good standing.
At least 2 year of personal injury experience, across pre-litigation and litigation.
Deposition Experience: Must have independently handled at least 6 depositions.
The ability to independently take and defend depositions with at least 1 year experience.
Looking for a high-performing, proactive attorney who takes ownership.
Strong negotiation, advocacy, and legal-writing skills.
-
If the firm decides to proceed after the interview, the candidate will need to provide at least 3 recent professional references.
Bonus points (not required)
Litigation: 3 years (Required)
Language: Spanish (Preferred)
Filevine or similar case-management software.
Motion-practice experience, or an interest in building trial skills.
What we offer
$180,000-$230,000 per year, (depending on experience)
Performance-based bonus

Paid time off
Paid parking
Training & development and tuition assistance
