Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary school students as a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant educational environment. This full-time contract position covers a maternity leave, running from mid-October to early February, and focuses on helping students in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade reach their communication goals.
You will work closely under the guidance of a dynamic Voco SLP, with the chance to connect beforehand to ensure a strong working relationship. Your day-to-day will center on providing direct intervention, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with both educators and families to facilitate the best possible outcomes for students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California SLPA license (required)
- Minimum of three months’ experience as an SLPA
- Experience working within a school setting preferred
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, though not required
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with supervising SLP and school staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language services to students in grades TK-5 as directed by supervising SLP
- Implement individualized communication therapy plans
- Track and document student progress accurately
- Support classroom teachers with carryover strategies for students’ communication needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
