Job Description
Day Shift
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience working for GRO/RTC is strongly recommended.
%CF; Must be at least 21 years old
%CF; Have one of the following from a program recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or a
public educational entity outside of Texas:
1. High school diploma; or
2. High school equivalency, such as a General Educational Development (GED).
%CF; Be able to read, write, and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel, and other
persons necessary to care for the client’s needs.
%CF; Be eligible for employment in the USA
%CF; Successfully complete all pre-service and pre-employment requirements
%CF; Possess a valid Driver’s License or state ID, state of Texas preferred
%CF; Meet the requirements relating to Background Checks as outlined in Subchapter F of Chapter
745 of the TAC
Duties and Responsibilities:
%CF; Be aware of the client’s habits, interests, and any special needs, including any special supervision
needs.
%CF; Provide a safe environment.
%CF; Positively reinforce client’s efforts and accomplishments.
%CF; Ensure continuity of care for client by sharing with incoming caregivers’ information about each
client’s activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written information or instructions
given by the parent or other professionals.
%CF; Implement and follow the client’s service plans.
%CF; Maintain accurate documentation which is appropriate signed and dated.
%CF; Know which client you are responsible for (via staff assignment sheet).
%CF; Be aware of and accountable for each client’s on-going activity.
%CF; Provide the level of supervision necessary to ensure each client’s safety and wellbeing, including
auditory and/or visual awareness of each client’s ongoing activity as appropriate.
%CF; Be able to intervene when necessary to ensure each client’s safety.
%CF; Interact directly with residents.
%CF; Execute group, program and recreational activities.
%CF; Serve/prepare meals to each client according to menu.
%CF; Supervise residents at all times.
%CF; Provide transportation to the residents for appointment as needed.
%CF; Keep Shift Supervisor informed of all observations.
%CF; Provide crisis intervention for residents.
%CF; Complete, sign, and date all daily progress notes and serious incidents for residents by the end of
daily shift and perform other duties as assigned.
