Production Lead – 2nd Shift
Location: Carrollton, TX
Pay: $20.00–$21.00 per hour
Schedule: 2:30 PM until production is completed
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Overview -
VSSI Staffing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Lead to support second-shift manufacturing operations in Carrollton, TX. This position coordinates daily production activities, trains employees, monitors workflow, and ensures all safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
The Production Lead will work alongside the team to manufacture and package personal care or nutritional products while helping the department meet its production schedule and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate staffing assignments and daily production priorities
- Lead start-of-shift meetings to review production goals, safety requirements, quality expectations, and efficiency targets
- Train and coach employees on production procedures, work instructions, safety practices, and quality standards
- Monitor production workflows to ensure schedules and customer demand are met
- Assist with assembling, producing, and packaging products
- Track production metrics and monitor daily KPIs
- Report concerns involving product quality, equipment, materials, processes, or staffing
- Work with Warehouse, Quality, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues
- Follow bills of materials, fill tickets, change controls, deviation reports, and rework instructions
- Verify materials and components before production runs
- Maintain accurate inventory levels using the company’s ERP system
- Complete material reconciliation and production paperwork within required timeframes
- Ensure employees comply with cGMP, PPE, sanitation, and safety requirements
- Maintain clean and organized production and staging areas
- Communicate department updates during meetings and shift changes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and productivity
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2–3 years of manufacturing or production experience; three years preferred
- Previous team lead, line lead, or project leadership experience strongly preferred
- Food, nutritional supplement, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements strongly preferred
- ERP experience required; Deacom experience is a plus
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to read and follow bills of materials, safety rules, operating instructions, and production procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- English communication skills required
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred
- Must be available to begin work at 2:30 PM and remain until daily production is completed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent reaching, bending, and handling of production materials
- Regularly lift up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work around moving equipment, chemicals, airborne particles, vibration, and moderate-to-loud noise
- Ability to work in areas that may be hot, cold, wet, or humid
- Must follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements
