Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Position Summary
Transformation Health Services is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) to join our Richmond, VA team. This position provides both clinical and administrative support in an outpatient behavioral-health setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, organized, and comfortable working directly with patients while supporting providers and specialized treatment services.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
- Greet patients and provide a welcoming, compassionate experience.
- Check patients in and out and assist with scheduling and appointment coordination.
- Obtain and document vital signs and other patient information.
- Assist providers with patient care and clinical needs.
- Administer medication injections within the CCMA's scope of practice, training, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with medication refill requests and pharmacy communication.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with Spravato® treatments, including patient preparation, vital signs, monitoring, documentation, and maintaining treatment flow according to established protocols.
- Assist with TMS treatments, including patient preparation, treatment setup, monitoring, scheduling, and documentation.
- Communicate patient concerns, changes in condition, or adverse reactions promptly to the appropriate provider.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical and treatment areas.
- Follow HIPAA, safety, infection-control, and organizational policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism with patients, families, providers, and staff.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or behavioral-health setting preferred.
- Experience administering injections preferred.
- Experience with psychiatric/behavioral-health patients, Spravato®, or TMS is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Comfortable working independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative clinical team.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred.
