MANUFACTURING-DESIGN ENGINEER

We are seeking a Manufacturing-Design Engineer to join our engineering and manufacturing team supporting advanced composite and mechanical manufacturing programs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can translate engineering designs into efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes—and, equally important, communicate those processes clearly and train others to execute them successfully.


This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working on the manufacturing floor as well as with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities including though not limited to:

  • Utilize SolidWorks to create designs, shop drawing, BOM and specifications.
  • Work with and supervise production staff to fabricate, modify and test prototypes.
  • Coordinate transition to manufacturing developed products to include the development of manufacturing plans and job instructions
  • Write Job Instructions and work closely with shop personnel daily to monitor job hour performance milestones and deadlines
  • CNC programming machine set-up using Mastercam, EnRoute, FlowJet, and WINMPM CNC programming as required
  • Assist with or prepare quotations, bids and proposals
  • Provide customer service and engineering sales support


Skills/Requirements, etc.

  • Project management experience, including experience supervising production personnel is preferred
  • Good communication skills both oral and written with the ability to train and explain
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, computer skills, problem solving and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in 3-D Modeling Preferably SolidWorks.
  • Mastercam or other CNC programming experience preferred
  • Knowledge and interest in metal and composites fabrication and the ability to select or specify fabrication methods and procedures, tooling and fixtures.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Mechanical, Mechatronic, Marine, Ocean, Civil/Structural Engineering Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Candidates with relevant industry experience in lieu of a college degree will be considered and encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 3+ years related experience preferred
