We are seeking an experienced Quality Lead to take hands-on ownership of day-to-day Quality activities within a manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor, solving problems, making sound Quality decisions, and helping build and improve practical Quality systems.

This is a hands-on position with no direct reports currently. The ideal candidate will be experienced enough to work independently, make product-quality decisions, and help strengthen the facility's Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document incoming, in-process, finished-product, and returned-product inspections.
  • Identify nonconforming material and make decisions regarding Quality Hold, release, rejection, restock, regrind, or scrap.
  • Investigate customer quality complaints and returned products and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Production and other plant teams to identify, contain, and resolve quality issues.
  • Help build and improve the local QMS, including procedures, document control, corrective actions, calibration controls, and training records.
  • Maintain accurate Quality records and track defects, holds, claims, repeat issues, and corrective-action follow-up.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing Quality, inspection, or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Experience working within a structured QMS and helping improve Quality procedures, processes, or documentation.
  • Experience with nonconforming material, product holds, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Comfortable reading specifications and tolerances and using common measurement/inspection equipment.
  • Able to work independently, organize priorities, make sound decisions, and follow issues through completion.
  • Dependable and approachable, with the ability to maintain Quality standards while working effectively with Production and other plant teams.

Preferred: Experience in plastics, extrusion, fabrication, packaging, automotive supply, or similar manufacturing; ISO-style QMS experience; and ERP/SAP exposure.
