Job Description
Worldwide Logistics Inc. is looking for a 2nd Shift Dock Lead at our 3PL warehouse in Westampton, NJ.
Job Summary:
As a 2nd Shift Dock Lead in our 3PL warehouse, you will oversee dock operations during the second shift, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of goods. You will lead a team of dock workers, coordinate shipping and receiving activities, and maintain safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the dock team during the second shift, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of shipments.
- Monitor and maintain dock safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Train and mentor dock workers on best practices, safety procedures, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of dock equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with the warehouse management team to optimize dock operations and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and dock activities.
- Address any operational issues that arise during the shift and escalate as necessary.
- Assist in the development of shift schedules and manage labor resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and familiarity with safety regulations.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Capable of working in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to noise and temperature changes.
