Lead Design Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, setting direction for a team of engineers.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards and requirements of project specifications
• Coordinate team initiatives and ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with the Design Engineering Manager and business stakeholders to refine and deliver the product design.
• Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with long-term product strategy.
• Develop a deep understanding of current products.
• Design, develop, and maintain complex engineering components as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Expectations

• •Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• •Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Proven ability to mentor and guide a team of engineers.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, management, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits (AC & DC)
• Working knowledge of basic computer networking
• Working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control Fundamentals
• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
• Familiarity with NEC
• Knowledge of UL508a
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Ability to multitask
• Strong communication skills with ability to understand and articulate ideas verbally and in writing

Working Conditions

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for at least 50% of the time.
• Be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access office equipment and other
• resources.
• Be able to operate a computer and related software for a prolonged period, and use office
• productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
• Be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing and using a mouse.
• Be able to communicate effectively, conveying information and ideas clearly so others can
• understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these interactions.
• Be able to observe details at close range, e.g. computer screens and printed documents.
• Be able to travel as needed to job sites.
