Senior Tax Accountant

Navesink Tax & Advisory LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team in Neptune, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to become an important part of a collaborative, client-focused accounting firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and nonprofit tax returns

• Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy

• Conduct tax research and assist with tax-planning strategies

• Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients

• Respond to IRS and state tax notices

• Manage multiple client assignments and deadlines during tax season

• Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax questions and missing information

• Provide guidance and support to junior accountants and administrative team members

• Maintain accurate client records and workpapers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of three to five years of recent public-accounting tax experience

• Strong experience preparing individual and business tax returns

• CPA or EA designation preferred; CPA candidates will also be considered

• Experience with UltraTax CS is strongly preferred

• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office

• Strong tax research, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines

• High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
