We're currently looking for an experienced full time front desk team member to join our stellar team. This Front Office Team Member/Medical Receptionist primarily answers phones, checks patients in and out, verifies insurance plans, collects copays, and various other duties. The ideal candidate will get to know our patients and their families, and bond with the rest of our practice over the mutual love of taking care of the little humans in Austin. We pride ourselves in providing the absolute best in pediatric care, and like to have fun while doing it.
Our ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to multitask- all with a smile. We are looking for true front desk superheroes! At least three years of relevant healthcare experience is required.
Supervisor: Front Office Manager, Practice Administrator

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Work with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and keep wait times short.
- Greet and assist patients and families.
- Answer busy, multi-line phone.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Verify insurance coverage.
- Collect patient payments.
- Scan patient documents into EMR software.
- Keep patient demographics in EMR up to date.
- Keep waiting room organized.
- Assist the Practice Administrator and Front Office Manager as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, and management.
The Person:
- Front desk medical office experience REQUIRED.
- Punctual and reliable; someone we can depend on every day.
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Professional, polished appearance.
- Friendly personality.
- Team player- must work well collaboratively.
- MUST love working with children and families.
Skills:
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office.
- Ability to problem solve independently and use best judgement in making appropriate decisions.
- Familiarity with insurance plans and patient financial responsibilities; comfortable collecting payments from families and setting up payment plans.
- Knowledge of medical terminology; pediatrics a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR software, and ability to learn new technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) as well as Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
Education:
- High school diploma.
- College preferred.
