After school Instructor

Position Overview:

The Instructor plays a key role in creating a positive and inclusive environment for participants. Instructors lead academic, enrichment, and recreational activities that spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage teamwork. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth development, enjoy hands-on learning, and want to make a meaningful impact in their community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate daily activities in areas such as academic support, STEAM, literacy, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom or activity space.
• Support participants’ academic growth through homework help, tutoring, and engaging learning strategies.
• Build positive relationships with participants that foster respect, responsibility, and self-esteem.
• Collaborate with the Program Director, Content Specialist and fellow staff to create a cohesive and dynamic program environment.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding attendance, behavior, and student progress.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community events.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm.
