Tow Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Respond reliably and professionally to roadside assistance and vehicle recovery calls.
• Safely operate tow trucks and recovery equipment, including flatbeds and wheel-lift systems.
• Perform roadside services such as jump starts/battery assistance, vehicle lockouts, tire changes, and other basic roadside assistance.
• Perform vehicle recoveries according to company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
• Follow instructions, company procedures, and recovery protocols accurately.
• Use digital platforms, mobile applications, dispatch systems, and electronic documentation as required.
• Maintain the tow truck, tools, and equipment in safe and working condition.
• Work safely and remain alert to traffic, weather, roadside hazards, and changing conditions.
• Maintain composure and make sound decisions when working under pressure or in difficult situations.
• Be available for overtime, weekends, evenings, and varying schedules as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Reliable, responsible, and dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
• Previous towing, roadside assistance, or vehicle recovery experience.
• Experience with:
• • Vehicle recovery
  • Flatbed towing
  • Wheel-lift towing
  • Battery/jump-start service
  • Vehicle lockouts
  • Tire changes
• Additional specialized towing or roadside assistance skills are a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to understand and follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
• Comfortable using smartphones, digital dispatch platforms, and other technology required for the job.
• Must meet company requirements for driving history and background screening.
• Must possess the appropriate driver’s license and qualifications required to operate the assigned tow truck.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to identify and respond appropriately to hazards.
