Objective: To service and install Security Solutions systems to meet or exceed both the company and personal goals. Responsibilities include efficiently and professionally supporting Memphis Communications Corporation customers by achieving the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all necessary training and obtain all certifications required for Telecom and Security.
  • Ensure all installations go according to SOW and SOF
  • Ensure all cabling follows code regulations
  • Responsible for any assigned installation until system commissioning is completed
  • Responsible for all as-builts are updated and turned in after job competition
  • Leading in network implementation for installations as well as coaching/instructing other installation technicians
  • Assist in all aspects of installation from start to finish
  • Assist in any technical service needs on completed/legacy installations
  • Ensures all company safety policies and procedures are followed and enforced. Provides informative and well-organized training for our clients Maintains inventory and provides purchasing forecasts.
  • Thinks creatively out of the box and provides solutions to client’s problems by leveraging technology

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

1) Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. Know that you are responsible for your actions. Strive to be self-sufficient through constantly refining your interpersonal and technical skills. Project a positive and supportive image of self as well as Memphis Communications Corporation

2) Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

3) Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components. Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to wood framing, using staplers.

4) Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.

5) Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required. Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

6) Extensive travel may be required for this position. All expenses are paid for or reimbursed by the company.

7) Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network. Has a basic understanding of IPV4 and how to assign a computer an IP address.

8) Pursue technical training prerequisites and Corporate Classes to ensure that you are properly trained and educated to support our customers.

9) Report to work on time and ready to perform.

10) Consistently dresses professionally.

11) Consistently achieves quotas set by management and effectively manages time as well as activity to maximize utilization.

12) Make complete service calls on their own. Gives meticulous attention to detail on all service calls.

13) Troubleshoots using a logical step-by-step process of elimination to properly conclude and address the issue. Escalates issues in a timely manner to find a prompt solution for the customer.

14) Consistently performs the total call routine to maximize system uptime and number of copies/prints and or time between calls. Strives to properly address the system on the first call to avoid all callbacks.

15) Effectively and proactively uses parts to maximize machine reliability. Does not troubleshoot using various, unnecessary parts.

16) Works with the Parts / Supply Supervisor to consistently track, order and reorder parts to maintain an effective inventory to minimize Suspended Calls.

17) Achieves a minimum of a 95% parts accuracy on all parts inventory counts. To include a minimum of 1 inventory count per quarter.

18) Effectively works with dispatch to achieve 4.0 hour Response Time goal.

19) Consistently works towards total Customer Satisfaction by achieving a minimum average of 23 on the Customer Satisfaction Survey.

20) Accurately and timely closes all calls with dispatch.

21) Accurately and timely submits all paperwork (i.e. Service Tickets, Monthly Expense Reports, etc.).

22) Keeps Supervisor, Management and Sales informed regarding all customer escalation issues.

23) Handles objections or difficult situations in a calm manner.

24) Works effectively with all co-workers to facilitate a solution for the customer.

25) Consistently displays a positive work ethic and attitude and offers ideas or solutions to successfully work through the situation.

26) Willing to modify schedule to achieve what is best for the customer and or the company.

27) Properly handles and takes ownership of company assets that are assigned to them (company van, cell phone, etc,). Must pass 3 of 4 or 4 of 5 weekly van inspections. The van inspection is rated on exterior and interior cleanliness as well as tire cleanliness and all are expected to clean their van weekly to pass this inspection.

28) Protects all assets from abuse and theft.

29) Seek guidance on all of Customers equipment, maintenance or chargeable status and equipment capabilities. Pursuing the sale of Maintenance Agreements to our Time & Materials customers

30) Displays proper dependability considering attendance and punctuality.

31) Realizing that our Customers depend on Memphis Communications Corporation to meet their system needs, we must arrive not only on time to work but also well rested and energized to achieve our goals.

32) Must notify immediately if he/she will be tardy or ill in advance.

33) Must schedule all doctor or dentist appointments and vacations in advance. Written request is to be submitted to GSM three days prior to requested days off.

34) Attends and contributes to all service meetings. Is on time and prepared for all meetings.

35) Research, update, understand and apply all technical bulletins.

36) Adheres to Company Policies and Procedures.

37) Is supportive of co-workers.

38) Pursues an understanding and vision of service goals and strategies. Willingly brings ideas and suggestions to Managements attention.

39) Provides Sales Leads for new customers to the Sales Manager.

40) Proactively and timely communicates any customer specific information or concerns to the specific Sales Representative. Follows up as needed with Sales and or the customer to ensure that issues have been fully addressed.

41) Is capable of lifting tool bag (approximately 30 lbs.) and related tools and or items as it relates to completing the service call. Is capable of transporting these items in and out of the company van to the customer’s location on every service call. Is capable of climbing in and out of the company van via the side and or back van doors.

42) Must be able to lift and transport entire inventory into the Parts Department and back to the van once a quarter to have a quarterly parts inventory count conducted.

43) Since a large portion of our systems are built from the ground up, one must be physically able to bend, kneel, stoop, sit, stand and or lean for extended periods of time on every service call to properly view, repair, and address the systems that Memphis Communications Corporation sells and services.

44) If a system is not repairable in the field, it is necessary to bring that system to the office. Using proper safety measures, one must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (or 100 pounds with a co-worker) to load / unload a system into a company van.

45) Must be able to walk for a period of time and distance carrying a tool bag and or pulling an equipment cart to gain access to the customer’s site and equipment. In some situations, one may need to carry a tool bag and related items up a flight of stairs or more.

46) Must maintain a good driving record to qualify to drive the Company Van. If one can not qualify to drive the van, this will lead to termination of employment with Memphis Communications Corporation

47) Compliant with Supervisor and Management’s directives.
