About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-oriented Heavy Equipment Operator (Civil) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of civil construction machinery, ensuring safety and productivity on-site for infrastructure and civil works projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, and loaders safely and efficiently.
- Follow site plans and supervisor instructions to move earth, materials, and other items according to project specifications.
- Maintain equipment in good working order by performing daily inspections and coordinating repairs as needed.
- Adhere to workplace safety and environmental regulations, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
- Assist with the installation of infrastructure such as drainage, roads, utilities, and concrete structures as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other members of the construction crew.
- Complete required job logs, checklists, and reports daily.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in operating civil construction equipment and relevant attachments.
- Solid understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret site plans and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective team communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Minimum 1 years' proven experience operating civil construction equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of job site safety protocols.
- Preferred:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
- Formal training in construction or equipment operation.
- Experience with multiple types of civil construction projects (roads, utilities, drainage, etc.).
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification/license appropriate for the state/province/region of work.
- Ability to speak multiple languages or fluency in the local language (if applicable).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily outdoors at construction sites and may require working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to company safety guidelines.
Pay and Benefits
- Full-Time, W-2 Employment
- Starting pay: $24 an hour, depending on experience
