About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-oriented Heavy Equipment Operator (Civil) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of civil construction machinery, ensuring safety and productivity on-site for infrastructure and civil works projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, and loaders safely and efficiently.
• Follow site plans and supervisor instructions to move earth, materials, and other items according to project specifications.
• Maintain equipment in good working order by performing daily inspections and coordinating repairs as needed.
• Adhere to workplace safety and environmental regulations, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
• Assist with the installation of infrastructure such as drainage, roads, utilities, and concrete structures as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other members of the construction crew.
• Complete required job logs, checklists, and reports daily.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in operating civil construction equipment and relevant attachments.
• Solid understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret site plans and technical drawings.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective team communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Required:
• • Minimum 1 years' proven experience operating civil construction equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of job site safety protocols.
• Preferred:
• • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Formal training in construction or equipment operation.
  • Experience with multiple types of civil construction projects (roads, utilities, drainage, etc.).
  • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification/license appropriate for the state/province/region of work.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages or fluency in the local language (if applicable).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily outdoors at construction sites and may require working in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to company safety guidelines.

• Starting pay: $24 an hour, depending on experience
