Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support the physician and clinical team with patient care, room preparation, clinical procedures, inventory management, and day-to-day operations of the practice.

This position will also assist with the preparation and handling of peptide therapies and wellness medications in accordance with physician orders, applicable laws, pharmacy requirements, and clinic protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Room and prepare patients for physician visits and wellness consultations
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medication lists, medical histories, and other pertinent information
  • Assist the physician during examinations, procedures, and patient consultations
  • Perform basic clinical duties within scope of practice and training
  • Assist with injections, blood draws, EKGs, and other clinical procedures as directed
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure supplies are available and properly stocked
  • Provide patient education and reinforce physician instructions
  • Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, lab work, and treatments
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Wellness & Peptide Program Support

  • Assist the clinical team with physician-directed wellness and peptide therapy programs
  • Prepare, handle, label, and organize peptide medications according to established protocols and applicable regulations
  • Assist with medication administration under appropriate clinical supervision
  • Maintain accurate records of medications, doses, lot numbers, expiration dates, and patient administration as required
  • Follow strict medication-handling, infection-control, and safety procedures
  • Help educate patients on physician-prescribed treatment plans and proper medication storage/administration

Inventory & Clinic Operations

  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies, medications, peptides, and wellness products
  • Maintain organized medication and supply storage areas
  • Track expiration dates and inventory levels
  • Assist with ordering and receiving supplies
  • Maintain appropriate inventory logs and documentation
  • Help keep clinical areas clean, organized, and prepared for patients
  • Identify supply needs and communicate shortages to the appropriate team member

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice, cardiology office, wellness clinic, or similar setting preferred
  • Strong clinical and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly with medications and documentation
  • Comfortable interacting with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
  • Comfortable learning new wellness therapies, protocols, and technologies
  • Strong computer and electronic medical record skills
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a clinical team

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Cardiology
  • EKGs
  • Phlebotomy
  • Injections
  • IV therapy
  • Wellness or longevity medicine
  • Weight-management programs
  • Peptide therapy
  • Medication inventory and management
  • Preventative medicine
  • Functional or integrative medicine
