Food Service Representative

Job Summary

We are seeking a Food Service Worker to assist with the daily operation of an employee café located in Downtown Charleston. This position is ideal for someone with food service, cafeteria, café, catering, or food preparation experience who enjoys a consistent daytime schedule.

The Food Service Temp will assist with preparing and packaging food items, maintaining a clean and organized café environment, and providing a positive experience for employees. Point-of-sale (POS) responsibilities will be minimal.

Pay: $19.04/hr.

Shift: 7:30am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation of the employee café
• Prepare and package sandwiches, salads, and other food items
• Assist with basic food preparation and presentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food service area
• Follow all applicable food safety and sanitation procedures
• Provide friendly and professional service to employees
• Assist with stocking food, supplies, and café items as needed
• Operate the POS system on a limited basis
• Perform other food service duties as assigned

Requirements

• Current SafeServ certification is required
• Previous food service, café, cafeteria, catering, or food preparation experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and dependable attendance
• Professional and customer-service-oriented attitude
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
