Auto Porter

Location: 1155 Highway 101 South, Greer SC 29651
Shift Time: 07:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Mon–Fri) Overtime may be required.
Pay rate: $ 23.17 /hour on W2

Responsibility:

· Retrieves cars from the parking lot and moves to the body shop area for body work.

· Moves completed cars from shop to parking area.

· Sweeps floors, empties trash, and takes care of general cleaning of shop area.

· Retrieves tools and parts for body technicians.

· Aides body technicians in the body work when needed.

· Aligns headlights when needed.

· Washes completed vehicles and preps for delivery to the customer or

· Vehicle Administration.

· Vacuums interior of car and wipes down all surfaces.

· Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.

· Understands and models VPS Principles and concepts of Standard Work and

· Problem Solving.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education:

· High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

· 1+ years of vehicle experience required

Licenses and/or Certifications:

Driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving record.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Basic less than 1 year of experience/training needed

· Intermediate 1 – 3 years of experience/some training may be needed

· Advanced 3-5 years’ experience/no training needed

· Expert 5+ years’ experience/able to train others.

· Basic knowledge of proper vehicle cleaning practices.

1) Transports materials or inspects building, equipment and other items;

2) Operates computers or other office equipment’; and

3) Sits or stands for prolonged periods of time. Physical demands should be described in terms of what has to be done and not in terms of physical or mental attributes. Environmental Demands - Examples are:

1) Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.

· Works with nontoxic cleaning chemicals.

· Performs work in a normal work shop setting

Qualification:

· The Perf Center Porter is responsible for supporting daily vehicle processing operations by performing basic detailing and facility upkeep tasks.

· Core responsibilities include moving vehicles safely throughout the facility, washing and vacuuming vehicles, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

· This includes sweeping, mopping, operating floor‐cleaning equipment, and managing waste disposal such as trash and cardboard.

· This is an entry‐level role, and most tasks beyond the core functions can be trained on the job.

· This position requires frequent movement of vehicles and the ability to meet company driving requirements.

· Previous experience in automotive detailing is beneficial but not required.
